All My Friends Are Hot

2025—Ongoing

Queer representation in media has historically been negative and misrepresentative of individual identities. Within the queer community, artists and activists have worked to document the reality of queer culture and people in order to subvert harmful narratives created by heteronormative society that marginalize our community. The series All My Friends are Hot documents my queer friends and peers as they are: unapologetic, confident, and full of self-love and acceptance. Each photoshoot is model-led, meaning my role is to support rather than to direct. I collaborate with each model to develop poses that make them feel comfortable, accurately represent their true selves, and highlight key details of their personal self-expression. The photos are edited to be monochromatic, using a color drawn from the images that I feel best characterizes their personality. I plan to expand this series to show my friends—and the world—there is nothing hotter than loving yourself.
